Welcome

Is a distinctive flat-topped mountain in the Derryveagh mountains of Donegal, Ireland. The mountain is a dominant feature or the north of Donegalscenery. Dunfanaghy and Creeslough are the towns nearest to Muckish.

High-grade quartz sand was mined on the mountain. The “miners’ path” is a route to the summit up the northern side of the mountain. The sand was exported and was mainly used in the manufacturing of optical glass
